Things to Do on the Sunshine Coast

The road to the Sunshine Coast (a scenic 30 minute drive away from Vancouver city centre to Horseshoe Bay to Langdale/Gibsons plus a 40 minute ferry ride) is already the beginning of a great holiday and a great ride through paradise.
The Sunshine Coast is home of the coasters, people enjoying a relaxed coastal lifestyle, a great meeting place and home of international artists, great places for diving, boating, fishing, hiking, golfing, camping (!!). You will find beaches, some are even sandy, forests, always have mountain view, you can watch the big cruise ships coming by on their way to Alaska. If you are lucky you will see a whale or a dolphin.
Special Congratulations are going out to the beautiful Town of Gibsons!! On Oct. 12/09 Gibsons won the award for Most Liveable Community in the World (under 20,000 population). Read more ......
Driving up to Sechelt lets you explore our Native Museum and the home of the Salish First Nation. Sechelt means "Land between two waters". On the one side the Pacific Ocean with the Trail Bay Islands and on the other side the Sechelt Inlet with a Float Plane "Airport", Provincial Parks, more beaches, mountains.....you have to see it!
We hope we got you curious, come and visit us!

The lower Sunshine Coast stretches 84 kilometers from the Langdale ferry terminal (the main entry point for most visitors) to Earls Cove where a connecting ferry leads to the upper Sunshine Coast. The Coast has one main highway which parallels most of the coastline and provides easy access to many communities and places of interest.
For more information about our communities, contact any one of our local Visitor Info Centres in Gibsons, Sechelt, Madeira Park, Powell River and Lund. (Get information, maps, visitor guides and brochures, book accommodations, Internet access, fax service and purchase gifts.)
On the ferries between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale (from spring to fall) you will meet the Sunshine Coast Travel Ambassadors, a group of dedicated volunteers who provide travel information. While enjoying your sailing to the Coast, you can pick up visitor guides, maps and ask any questions you might have before you even arrive.
